I.T. Rocks 2009 held at Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall on December 11, 2009, surely rocked Informatics Cainta students and audiences alike. Like last year’s I.T. Rocks event, I.T. Rocks 2009 was managed by the different participating clubs of the school and was sponsored by Wendy’s, Red Ribbon and other supporters of this annual competition.
The event kicked off at 1 P.M. with our very own AVP Howell Mabalot as the master of ceremony. After the opening prayer, the singing of the national anthem and Mr. Mabalot’s opening speech, the IIC Cainta Association of Creative and Talented Students (ACTS) gave the opening performance as the participating schools were called.
The participating schools from Rizal, Pasig and Marikina included Holy Name of Mary school, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pasig, Harris Memorial School, Eastern Valley School, Greenland Academy, Bagong Nayon High, Divine Child Jesus school, East Manila Integrated, Gentle Angels School, Marist High School, Marikina Integrated, Saint Martin Montessori, St. Matthew College, Sta. Elena High School, Valley High School and Antipolo Muntindilaw High School. There were 16 schools that participated, breaking last year’s record of 10.
These schools prepared very well for the competitions, such as the Human I.T., where fashion and computer parts collide, StrIT Dance showdown, a dance contest, and Rock I.T., where the school’s bands got their chance ..
Informatics campuses and centers hold Infolympics '09

AMORANTO STADIUM – InfoLympics ’09 was held from November to December 2009. Several campuses and centers in Metro Manila joined the event. The indoor games, were held from November 21 to 23, 2009, while the outdoor games and the Mr. and Ms. Informatics and Cheer-leading competitions took place from December 2 to 4, 2009. The indoor games organized included badminton, darts, chess and table tennis. Basketball and volleyball were the events in the outdoor games category.
The outdoor games began on December 2, with the Search for the Mr. & Ms. Informatics ’09. The candidate of each campus was individually introduced and the committee declared the candidates of Informatics Cainta, Eastwood, Manila, Diliman and Fairview as the Top Five Male contenders for Mr. Informatics ’09, while the beauties from Manila, Diliman, Eastwood, Megamall and Makati completed the Top Five Female contenders for Ms. Informatics ’09. IIC conducts outreach activities for typhoon Ondoy victims

Students
and faculty members of IIC Cainta and Diliman conducted outreach
activities to help the victims of the floods brought about by typhoon
Ondoy last September 2009.
IIC Cainta conducted its first
outreach on September 30 by distributing relief goods to affected
families in villages and barangays in Green Park, Karangalan and at
Vista Verde in Cainta and Pasig. About 400 families were given relief
goods during this first leg of the outreach.
The second leg took
place on October 3 in Cainta, Pasig and Malanday, Marikina City. There
were two teams that conducted the outreach – the first one did a
feeding program at the Pasig and Cainta floodway area, while the second
distributed 400 relief packages in the Malanday area of Marikina City.
IIC
Diliman students and faculty members also conducted relief operations
in Quezon City and Marikina City. At least 10 students were involved in
the cleaning and excavation operations done in Provident Village in Marikina City.
Students and faculty members worked together to conduct a feeding
program in Bagong Silangan in Quezon City. A relief goods drive was
also done in the campus that produced five sacks of canned goods and
clothes that were brought to the Philippine National Red Cross.
Students and teachers also helped in re-packing relief goods and medicines at the
Rotary Club of New Manila together with IIC (Cainta..
